Happy Wednesday! One of the most beautiful transformations that I get to witness is when I see my clients’ efforts pay off and they start to notice their bodies changing as they work towards their goals. But I often hear about people getting excited about their commitment to change and they start a new program and about four weeks in to it, they lose their motivation to keep going because they don’t see the changes they desire. Today’s topic is about having patience with the process. Let’s take our bodies for example... Your body needs to take its own time to make progress, and the best thing you can do is pace yourself so you can stay consistent. Sometimes, especially when we start a new year, we go too hard and too fast and that only sets us up for burn out and sets us back. Remember the metabolic processes our bodies undergo take place first on the inside before we can see the results on the outside. AND change happens over time with consistency. Consistency to keep showing up, doing the things and working towards your goals. Our job is not to judge ourselves constantly, but to love and encourage ourselves consistently as we respect the process of being a work in progress. Let’s reset to be smarter, and remove unrealistic expectations from ourselves so we can love our bodies on their journey and avoid the pitfalls of beating ourselves up mentally for “failure to perform.” Remember to enjoy the process!
